Whimsical pottery created with imagination

As payback for making me overcome stage fright to act in a local play, I persuaded my husband to come with me to the Smithy to take a one-night pottery workshop. He hated it. I loved it. It felt like I may have been a potter in a former life. Many classes later, I realized that the wheel was not for me after all. My affinity was in hand-building. It is both cathartic and exhilarating to transform a lump of clay into a dragon, purrcat, merdog, bird nest or feather trinket tray. Glazes are tricky and undergo often unpredictable chemical changes in the kiln. However, Stroke and Coat are special glazes that react like acrylic paints so I find myself returning to the comfort and love of painting using clay as the canvas.
